The Story of Kolbe Cakes

My father, William Kolber was a third generation farmer. His businesses were located in Albany (Whitehall Road) and in the town of Bethlehem (Route 9W). He dedicated his life to growing and producing beautiful flowers and harvesting the most delicious vegetables at his farm stand- “Kolber’s Farm.”

I grew up working on the farm and tending the farm stand all throughout my teens and into college. I fell away from the business for years to pursue my career in education. I then became a stay at home mom after my first child was born.

While raising my children, I began to bake for the farm stand for a small client base.

Now that years have passed, my dad is no longer with us and the farm stand holds many memories in my heart. Today, with my children in school full time, I can’t seem to ignore that yearning for the happiness and passion I had when baking for Kolber’s. I hold great joy in making others happy and providing a fresh, delicious product to enjoy!

I have a continued a love for combining ingredients that are freshly harvested during the peak of each season and using only the best quality to ensure an amazing result! My youngest child has a severe peanut and tree nut allergy. I share the concern of all of you out there who have loved one with food allergies. I know many who have difficulty in finding a bakery that offers safe products for those with nut allergies. Each and every Kolbe Cake is made with lots of love and is always nut free.
